The Malmaison Hotel in Oxford has been described as one of the most unusual and unique hotels in the World. Why? Because the hotel within Oxford Castle was also a former prison, now luxuriously refurbished to Malmaison's exacting standards but still retaining an air of 'Porridge' about it.
